We warmly welcome the newest member of our family - Sig Sauer

We recently welcomed an adorable English Bulldog into our family, naming him Sig Sauer, or Sig for short. He was found as a stray by kind-hearted individuals and brought to the Veterinary Emergency Group, where I work. Upon his arrival, he was in poor condition—emaciated, infested with ticks, and suffering from widespread hair loss and skin irritation. Our dedicated hospital staff promptly commenced treatment, which included tick removal, a bath, flea and tick prevention, antibiotics, and topical ointments. When I first met him at work, I instantly fell for this affectionate cuddle bug. I shared his photos with my husband, who agreed that Sig deserved a loving home.

Due to his medical needs and our hospital's policies, he was transferred to the Arizona Humane Society for further care and documentation. Although he had a microchip, it was registered to someone who claimed not to know Sig at all. Initially, we became his foster parents, assisting with his daily treatments and follow-up appointments. Sig developed an umbilical hernia, which the Humane Society helped repair. He also underwent dental cleaning and had a few severely damaged teeth extracted. After surgery, we learned that his abdominal and subcutaneous tissues were in very poor condition, described as “rubber-like,” likely due to malnourishment and tissue inflammation.

On December 24, 2024, Christmas Eve, we officially adopted Sig, welcoming him into his forever home. Welcome home, Sig Sauer. We love you dearly!. Since joining our family, Sig has shown remarkable resilience and a loving spirit that has brightened our days. His playful antics and gentle nature have made him a beloved companion, not just for us, but for everyone he meets.

Sig has adjusted wonderfully to his new environment, enjoying his daily walks and playtime in the backyard. He has a particular fondness for his squeaky toys and never misses an opportunity to snuggle up with us on the couch. His health has improved significantly, and his once patchy coat is now thick and glossy. We've witnessed his transformation from a timid, frail pup into a vibrant and confident member of our family.

Every day with Sig is a reminder of the power of compassion and care. His journey from a stray in need to a cherished family member is a testament to the love and dedication of everyone involved in his recovery. We’re grateful for the chance to offer him a loving home and to receive all the joy he brings into our lives. Sig Sauer, you are truly a blessing to our family.
